Yamaja Engines Limited began business in 1975 importing Yamaha Outboard Motors with 10 units in our first shipment. The company has grown over these past 25 years with its core business of selling, installing, servicing and maintaining warranty on Yamaha Outboard Motors, to marketing other Yamaha products such as water vehicles, electrical generators and water pumps. In addition the company now represents USA-based boat companies such as Boston Whaler, Grady-White, Mako Marine, Pursuit, and from Colombia, the Eduardono line of commercial boats. We also represent Continental Trailers, a USA-based company along with many other marine companies. This wide representation of marine companies allows us to offer a true turn-key operation that allows our customers to buy a completely finished product of boat, outboard motor, trailer, accessories and fishing or diving equipment. We service mostly the commercial fishing sector but also the government sector comprising the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, the Jamaica Constabulary Force Marine Police, and the N.G.O. Marine Parks. Our ability to import, install all types of marine equipment and service these over the years has given us a reputation of competitive pricing and excellent after sales service. Our new 35,000 sq. Ft. Facility in uptown Kingston, Jamaica puts us in the centre of commercial activity with emphasis on exposure to the public. Our new state of the art facilities allows the ability to work on numerous applications simultaneously offering faster turn-around time to our customers. Since 1996 when we acquired our new facility and our introduction of the Eduardono line of commercial boats simultaneously, we have seen a steady growth in the commercial sector of our business. Our staff are highly trained in both sales and service. Our sales staff travel annually to our overseas boat company suppliers for sales training and updates on new products. Our service staff travel as far as Yamaha Japan for training. We in turn train local mechanics to maintain and service all the products we sell. Yamaja Engines Limited is a family owned company that has enjoyed steady growth even during harsh economic times: our commitment to the commercial boating sector from the artisan fisherman through the security forces/marine parks patrol boats to the tourism users, has kept us active while awaiting the future boom in recreational boating now starting. As we enter the 21st century, a new millennium, our commitment to dedicated service and proper after sales follow up will allow us to continue positive growth.
